2022 Cape Cod Memorial Day Weekend Events Guide

Memorial Day weekend is not only the official kickoff to the “summer" season here on Cape Cod, but also an excellent opportunity to honor the soldiers that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We would not be able to get outside and enjoy all the spectacular things Cape Cod has to offer without their dedication, their service, and their sacrifice.

Whether you choose to celebrate with a cookout in the backyard or by attending a remembrance ceremony, however you choose to observe this Memorial Day weekend 2022, Nichole Willey & Team wants to help you make the most of the 2022 Summer season kick off. Upper Cape Memorial Day Events

Memorial Day Weekend Block Party: Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial kick off to the summer season! Join us on Saturday May 28th from 11AM – 5PM for our annual MDW Block Party to celebrate!

Bourne Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony: Visit historic Bourne Town Hall and join Bourne American Legion Post 230 Commander Don Dastous, Bourne officials, veterans, military families, and grateful citizens as we honor and remember the fallen sons and daughters who wore the cloth of our Nation on Memorial Day.

Memorial Day 2022 Flag placement at VA National Cemetery Bourne MA: Flags for Vets will again be honoring our beloved veterans by placing over 77,000 flags at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne for Memorial Day on Saturday, May 28

Sandwich Memorial Day Rememberance Ceremony: Visit the beautiful Sandwich Public Library and join Clark-Haddad American Legion Post 188 Commander Ray Tourville, Sandwich Officials, veterans, military families, and grateful citizens as we honor and remember the fallen sons and daughters who wore the cloth of our Nation on Memorial Day.

Falmouth Memorial Day Ceremony: The Falmouth Veterans’ Council and Department of Veterans’ Services cordially invite you to attend the annual Memorial Day ceremony.

Guest Speaker: Commander Kevin Brown – U.S. Coast Guard. Retired veterans are invited to walk in the procession at 9:45 a.m. from the Falmouth Village Green to the ceremony in front of the Falmouth Public Library.

Mashpee Memorial Day Ceremony: Please join us as we honor, and pay tribute to, our fallen heroes on Monday, May 30th. The ceremony will take place beginning at 10 am at the Mashpee Community Park, 13 Great Neck Road North.

Mid Cape Memorial Day Events

Hyannis CapeFLYER~Troops in the Spotlight: All Veterans /Active Military and a guest are invited to join us on May 29th, the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend for FREE round-trip transportation from Boston's South Station and all CapeFLYER stops along the route to the Hyannis Transportation Center where shuttles will be waiting to take you to the 18th Annual Troops in the Spotlight.

Barnstable Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony: Visit the historic Monument Square in Centerville Master of Ceremonies Steve Luciani, Barnstable officials, veterans, military families, and grateful citizens as we honor and remember the fallen sons and daughters who wore the cloth of our Nation on Memorial Day.

51st Figawi Race Weekend: Competitive racing is on and better than ever with 2 days on the water. Friday May 27, kickoff event and registration will be held at Hyannis Yacht Club. Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, 2 days of racing on Nantucket Sound with the starting area and finishing area off the Hyannisport Jetty. There will be award ceremonies, Figawi events around the Hyannis waterfront, great racing, the official kickoff of the J. David Crawford High School Sailing Invitational and best of all, the camaraderie that only Figwi can bring!

Yarmouth Friday Club Memorial Day Bake Sale: The Friday Club is a women's organization founded in 1901 dedicated to fundraising for local Cape Cod charities.The annual Friday Club Memorial Day Bake sale will be held Saturday, May 28 from 10:00 AM until sold out. We are baking pies, cookies, tea breads, muffins, bars, and assorted sweet treats to be enjoyed at your weekend celebrations. All proceeds from this sale will be donated.

Lower Cape Memorial Day Events

Town of Chatham Memorial Day Ceremony: Dedication of the American Revolutionary War Memorial is scheduled for Memorial Day at 11AM in Chase Park below the Godfrey Windmill. As a part the Memorial service at the Community Center at 10AM, Colonel Godfrey will tell the assembled crowds about the dedication. He will lead those interested in attending through Town accompanied by a fife and drum:(we hope) to Chase Park

Brewster Memorial Day Ceremony: The Brewster Memorial Day Celebration will take place on Monday, May 30, 2022. At 12 noon, Town members, Honor Guards, School Bands, and Veterans will convene at the Brewster Council of Aging for a short ceremony.

The Islands

Vineyard Artisans Memorial Day Festival at the Grange Hall: The only art show on Martha’s Vineyard exclusively featuring All Island Artisans with hand made fine furniture, sculpture, clothing, fine art one of a kind jewelry, fine ceramics, and so much more.

Nantucket Memorial Day Parade: Hosted by Highland Light Scottish Pipe Band Sun May 29 2022 at 01:00 pm
