While locals always benefit from the seasonal influx, Sustainable CAPE Farmers Market Coalition is making a year-round contribution to celebrating local food, all while teaching about the health of our bodies, community, and environment. The Sustainable CAPE Farmers Market Coalition works on Cape and with surrounding communities to help interested markets more easily understand, implement and run nutrition incentive programs. Nutrition incentive programs are designed to increase the affordability of local foods for those on SNAP (food stamps) and those using WIC and Senior Discount Coupons, as well as veterans, schoolchildren and certain eligible patients of local doctors’ offices.
